The basic premise of the game is to destroy the other teams Nexus. Sounds easy, right? Not so much. Teams are split up into 5v5 or 3v3, with a different Arena for each. Summoners (you and your teammates) choose their Champions before the battle begins (following suit with your typical Tank/DPS and Ranged/Mele fighting classes). There is also an in-game shop where you will spend the gold you earn by killing enemy minions and other Champions, on increasing your own Champions stats. There are also enemy turret towers along the way that shoot heavy damage dealing blows to anyone that get within range. The good news is that when you manage to destroy a tower, it cannot ever be re-spawned, whereas the bad news is that usually only a few hits from one kills you and forces a re-spawn at home base.
The in-game graphics are superb on my 18" 1080p laptop. The colors and edges are very vivid and the game runs incredibly smooth. I would say that anyone with a decent graphics card and at least 1Gb of Ram will enjoy smooth gameplay.
League of Legends (or LoL to those who play) is an incredibly team oriented game. If one person is bringing the team down, then two must work to pick up the slack. Only in rare cases can a pro carry an entire team.
Give the League a chance. I promise you won't be disappointed!
My in-game name is GhostL0rd. Go ahead and add me if you are in need of questions or advice, or are a veteran looking for a pro teammate. ;D

Captain Teemo reporting for duty.
ReplyDeleteHey nice review, they call LoL DotA and HoN 'MOBA massively online battle arena' games now, not RTS or RPG =)
ReplyDeleteI just tried out LoL today it was quite fun with a few mates, felt less competative than HoN tho!
I have never played HoN but have heard of it. I think that LoL is very competitive tho. I will check out HoN and get back to you about it.
ReplyDeleteI tried it after following your blog its amazing! Way better than dota!!1!
ReplyDeleteI guess its a different kind of competative, my friend at level 30 says its very competative (he was a pro WC3 player who moved from dota to HoN andplays LoL also).
ReplyDeleteIts just more fun id say as it doesnt punishing you for dieing as much as HoN does.
Battle I'm glad you are enjoying it!! The graphics are pretty good too, very vivid and clear, plus there is an entire rune system, and 3 different mastery builds. Not to mention 70+ champions to choose from. Well good luck to you! If you have any questions, my in-game name is located in the blog. Hit me up!
ReplyDeleteOh. My brother came home really excited about this today. I think I will try it out! =)
ReplyDeleteNice game, but i am more into dota
ReplyDeleteI love this game.
ReplyDeleteI tried to get into LoL, I really did. But the games community destroyed the experience for me.
ReplyDeleteSweet game.
ReplyDeleteLoved LoL, but the thing I couldnt handle from the MOBA was how long it took (upwards of an hour for a good legit match). That's why I switched to sc2 now ^^
ReplyDeletePlayed Dota, Once i found out about this. Fell in love.
